Commercial and Heavy Vehicle Body Repair for Tustin Fleets
OCRV Center repairs commercial and heavy vehicle bodies for Tustin fleets at a 35,000 sq ft shop in Yorba Linda. Work covers cab and box collision, structural welding, panel and skin replacement, fleet refinish, graphics and equipment installation across nine truck types. Engine and drive system service is handled by your own maintenance vendor.
Ballpark range $1,500 to $50,000 at 10 to 250 hours of labor. See the posted rate card.

Nine Truck Types, One Set of Bay Doors
Fleet managers in Tustin usually call us the week after a yard incident, not the month before one. The truck is still drivable, the body is not presentable, and somebody upstairs wants a number by Friday. That is the work this page covers: what we repair on a commercial chassis, what we deliberately leave alone, and how the estimate gets built before the truck comes off the route.
The category splits nine ways, and each one has its own page with real component detail:
- Commercial Trucks, Class 3 through Class 7 cab and body work.
- Semi Trucks, sleeper and day cab tractors carrying full aero packages.
- Flatbed Trucks, steel and aluminum decks, headboards, tie down hardware.
- Box Trucks, rear frames, corner posts, roll up doors and lift gates.
- Curtain Side Trucks, sliding curtains, top rails and trolley sets.
- Beverage Delivery Trucks, multi bay bodies with shutter doors and deck plate.
- Parcel and Furniture Delivery Trucks, walk in bodies and translucent roof panels.
- Reefer Refrigerated Trucks, insulated sandwich panels and interior liners.
- Dump Trucks, bodies, tailgates and hoist mounting points.
Where Our Ticket Starts and Where It Stops
Read this part before you send a truck over, because it saves a phone call. OCRV Center is a body, paint, structural and equipment shop. We cut, weld, straighten, panel, refinish, letter and bolt hardware to commercial vehicles. We do not open the engine, we do not service the drive system, and we do not issue roadworthiness certification. Your maintenance vendor keeps that side of the truck; we take the side that shows.
That boundary is not a limitation so much as a specialization. A body shop that also runs a mechanical lane is dividing its booth time and its structural technicians across two very different queues. Ours does not. The 35,000 sq ft floor is laid out for long vehicles, tall bodies and a paint booth that can take a cab and a box in the same cycle.
What we will do is a pre trip cosmetic and structural body inspection, posted at $250 to $600 for 1 to 3 hours, which documents body condition, mounting hardware, corrosion and marking before a unit goes back into rotation or gets handed to a new operator.
How Class and Body Style Change the Repair
Two trucks with the same badge on the door can be completely different repairs once the panels are off. The variable that matters is how the body attaches to the chassis and how much of the impact energy the chassis absorbed before the body saw any of it.
Cab over chassis
On a Class 5 or Class 6 cab with a separate body, a low speed hit at the corner often stops at sheet metal. The cab mounts, the body subframe and the frame rails come through clean, and the job is panel, prep and refinish. That is the cheap outcome.
Body integral with the load
On a box, a reefer or a curtain side, the body is a structure in its own right. Damage to a corner post or a top rail changes how the whole assembly carries load, and a cosmetic patch over that is a repair that comes back. Those get measured, not eyeballed.
Equipment carrying bodies
Dump bodies, lift gates and crane bodies put concentrated loads into specific mounting points. When one of those cracks, the visible symptom shows up somewhere else entirely, which is why the diagnosis starts at the mount and not at the symptom.
What a Fleet Job Costs Before You Commit
Fleet collision repair and paint refinish is posted at $1,500 to $50,000 across a labor range of 10 to 250 hours, which is wide because the category is wide. A creased door and a repainted panel sit near the bottom. A tractor that went over on its side and needs a cab straightened, a sleeper reskinned and a full livery reapplied sits near the top. Full posted bands for every line item live on the prices page.
Box and cargo body repair runs $750 to $15,000 at 5 to 80 hours. Cab body repair covering door, hood, fender and bumper runs $750 to $12,000 at 5 to 60 hours. Fleet graphics and vinyl wrap, partial or full, runs $1,500 to $9,500 at 10 to 45 hours. Body and paint labor is posted at $210 per hour, with paint supplies calculated at $55 per paint hour and body supplies at $5 per body hour, plus a $45 hazmat charge on jobs that generate regulated waste.
Deposits are structured so nobody is surprised: 50 percent at authorization on any job over $2,000, an additional 25 percent when parts arrive on any job over $10,000, and the final balance at pickup. Sales tax of 7.75 percent applies to parts and materials. Labor is not taxed. Insurance walk ins carry no charge for the collision estimate, and we bill Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, Mercury, Allstate, Liberty Mutual and AAA SoCal direct.
Getting a Truck From a Tustin Yard to Our Bays
From most Tustin industrial addresses the run is the 55 north to the 91 east, then a short surface hop to 23281 La Palma Ave in Yorba Linda. Drivers coming from the north side of town often prefer the 5 to the 57. Either way it is a short empty deadhead, which matters when you are paying a driver to move a unit that is not earning.
Shop hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday 9:30am to 3:00pm, closed Sunday. OCRV Center runs 50 to 150 repairs a month with roughly 20 collisions and 50 to 100 paint jobs in that mix, so scheduling a multi unit fleet rotation is a normal conversation rather than a special favor. We stand behind our work. Bring the unit in, or start with a Request a Quote and send photos of the damage, the vehicle identification plate and the current livery so the estimator can price colour and graphics with the body.
If your fleet mixes chassis types, the custom color matching and collision and structural pages explain how we hold one corporate colour across trucks of different ages and different original paint systems.
How this job runs
Damage mapping
The estimator walks the whole unit, not just the reported corner, and photographs mounting points, seams and the opposite side for colour reference before anything gets written.
Parts staging
Panels, hardware and graphics are sourced and confirmed on the shelf before the truck is torn down, so a disassembled body is not occupying a bay while a back ordered part ships.
Structure first, skin second
Frame, subframe, posts and mounts are corrected and verified before any panel goes on, because a panel hung to a shifted structure will show its misalignment within a month of service.
Refinish, marking and release
Colour is matched to the adjacent panel, graphics and reflective tape and compliance marking are reapplied, and the unit is washed and photographed before the fleet contact is called for pickup.
Questions we get asked
Do you work on the engine or drive system of a commercial truck?
No. OCRV Center performs body, paint, structural and equipment installation work only. Engine service and drive system service stay with your fleet maintenance provider. We also do not issue roadworthiness certification. Everything we touch is the structure, the skin, the finish and the bolt on hardware.
Can you keep a fleet colour consistent across trucks of different ages?
Yes. We spray sprayout cards and compare them to the actual panel under shop lighting rather than trusting the paint code alone. Older units fade and chalk differently depending on how they were stored, so the target is the truck in front of us, not the factory formula from when it was built.
How long will a commercial truck be off the road?
Posted labor for fleet collision and refinish runs 10 to 250 hours, and calendar time depends mostly on parts. We stage parts before teardown wherever the damage assessment allows it, so the truck is not sitting disassembled in a bay waiting for a fender to arrive from a distributor.
Do you handle multiple units from the same fleet at once?
Yes, and it is usually cheaper that way. Batching units lets us mix one colour, set up the booth once and spread the setup across several trucks. Tell the estimator how many units are coming and whether they can be released in a rotation rather than all at once.
What does the collision estimate cost?
There is no charge for insurance walk ins. Bring the truck, or send clear photos of the damaged area, the opposite side for comparison, and the full vehicle so the estimator can see the body style. An in depth diagnostic, when one is needed, is 1 hour at $285, applied as a credit against an authorized repair.
