Pricing and Business Disclosures

Prices published on this site are ballpark ranges for planning, not quotations. A real number comes from a written estimate against your vehicle, and it can change once teardown exposes concealed damage or once a carrier reviews the file. OCRV Center operates under BAR license ARD00288521 and EPA registration CAL000367879.

What do the published prices actually commit to?

Two different things, and separating them matters.

The posted rate card is what the shop charges. Body and paint at $210 per hour, mechanical and electrical at $260, diagnostics, scan and programming at $285, detail at $95. Paint supplies at $55 per paint hour, body supplies at $5 per body hour, a $45 hazmat line where regulated material is involved, sales tax at 7.75 percent on parts and materials but never on labor, parts markup of 100 percent at $100 or under and 35 percent above. Deposits of 50 percent over $2,000, an additional 25 percent over $10,000 at parts arrival, a full deposit on special order parts, and a 3.5 percent surcharge on card payments over $1,000. Those are the applied rates and rules.

The ballpark ranges are planning figures. Every operation on the prices page carries a low figure, a high figure and a labor hour range. Those describe what jobs of that type have historically involved. They are not quotations, they are not offers, and no figure on this site is binding on a specific repair.

The number that binds is the written estimate against your vehicle, produced after inspection. On insurance work it is the approved estimate against your claim.

Why can an estimate change?

Two reasons, and both are disclosed here because both are normal rather than exceptional.

Teardown findings. On laminated, bonded and sealed bodies the visible damage is routinely a fraction of the actual damage. A dented skin panel regularly turns out to sit over crushed substrate, a broken framing member and a lamination bond that released well beyond the impact. None of that can be assessed externally, which is why teardown authorization exists as a separate step and why a revised scope is standard on structural work. Nothing proceeds on a revised scope without your authorization, and the revision is supported with photographs of whatever was found.

Carrier review. On insurance work the carrier approves the operations and the hours. A supplement filed after teardown is reviewed, sometimes reassigned, sometimes routed for a field reinspection, and approval determines what gets performed. A written estimate is what the shop believes the repair requires. An approved estimate is what the carrier has agreed to pay for. Those can differ, and where they do you will be told which operations are unapproved so you can decide whether to authorize them yourself.

How do insurance billed rates work?

Insurance billed jobs may be written at carrier negotiated labor rates that differ from the posted retail rates published on this site. That is disclosed plainly here because it is a real difference and owners deserve to understand it rather than discover it.

Carriers set prevailing rates from market surveys, and where those surveys are drawn largely from general automotive body shops the resulting rate reflects a different class of equipment and facility than large vehicle work requires. Where a rate dispute arises, our published rates are the reference used to argue it, which is one of the reasons they are published at all.

Where a file is being written at a carrier negotiated rate, you are told before work starts and the estimate reflects it. Your deductible, any betterment, and any operation the carrier declines but you choose to authorize remain your responsibility. The full mechanics of supplements, betterment and total loss decisions are covered in the insurance section.

OCRV Center bills carriers directly and does not accept steering arrangements that trade repair scope for volume. In California you name the repair facility, and a carrier may not make its own recommendation a condition of settling your claim.

What licensing does the shop operate under?

OCRV Center operates as a California automotive repair dealer under Bureau of Automotive Repair license ARD00288521, and holds EPA registration CAL000367879 for the handling and disposal of regulated materials. Both numbers appear on estimates and invoices and both are verifiable with the issuing agency.

The BAR registration carries obligations owed to you: a written estimate before work begins, authorization required before the authorized amount changes, the right to have replaced parts returned to you on request, and an invoice itemizing parts and labor separately. Those are statutory rather than shop policy.

The EPA registration governs refrigerants, solvents, LP, coolants and battery chemistry, which recreational vehicle work generates in genuinely wide variety. The $45 hazmat line is the visible edge of that and it is charged when work actually involves regulated material rather than applied by default.

Scope disclosure, stated because it saves wasted trips: internal engine and drivetrain work is not performed at this facility, and neither is state vehicle inspection or tailpipe testing. All work is performed in shop at 23281 La Palma Ave in Yorba Linda. Further detail is on the compliance page.

Questions we get asked

Why will nobody give me a firm price over the phone?

Because a number given without seeing the vehicle is a guess, and a guess that comes in low is worse for you than no number. The published ranges let you plan the scale of the job. A written estimate after inspection is what commits to a figure, and a collision estimate carries no charge.

Can the final invoice exceed the estimate?

Only with your authorization. Where teardown exposes additional damage, you are shown photographs and the revised scope requires fresh authorization before work continues. That is both how this shop operates and what California law requires of an automotive repair dealer.

Why might insurance work be billed at different rates?

Carriers negotiate labor rates that can differ from a shop's posted retail rates, and where that applies to your file it is disclosed before work starts and reflected in the estimate. Your deductible, betterment and any operation you authorize beyond what the carrier approves remain yours.

Tell us what happened to it.

Describe the damage and we will give you a real scope, a cost range and an honest answer about how long it sits here. Serving Tustin from the Yorba Linda shop.
