OCRV Center repairs and refinishes RVs, campers, fifth wheels, trailers, vans and commercial trucks at a 35,000 square foot shop in Yorba Linda, serving Tustin and Orange County. Work spans collision and structural repair, paint, fiberglass, roofs, slide-outs, awnings, interiors, electrical, generators, plumbing, appliances, fabrication, detailing and inspection. All work is performed in shop.

What kind of work does this shop actually take in?

This shop takes in structural, cosmetic and systems work on vehicles too large or too specialized for a car body shop. A Class A diesel pusher with a cracked front cap, a fifth wheel with a delaminated sidewall, a Sprinter with a caved sliding door track, a box truck with a torn aluminum panel: all four go through the same bays.

The distinction that matters is not vehicle type, it is construction. A motorhome is a truck chassis under a coach built from laminated composite panels, fiberglass caps, aluminum framing and a membrane roof. Those materials do not behave like unibody sheet steel. A quarter panel on a sedan can be pulled and refinished in a day. A sidewall on a laminated coach has an outer fiberglass skin, a layer of adhesive, a luan substrate, block foam or aluminum studs, and an interior wall panel. Damage that looks like a dent from outside is usually a bond failure two layers in.

That is why the shop is organized by system rather than by trade. The collision and structural group owns anything that changed the geometry of the vehicle. The paint and body group owns anything that changed the surface. Mechanical and systems owns everything that draws power, moves water or burns propane. A single repair order routinely touches all three.

Facility capacity is 50 to 150 repairs per month, 100 to 150 maintenance visits, roughly 20 collision jobs and 50 to 100 paint jobs, per OCRV Center scheduling records. The building runs 35,000 square feet with a paint booth sized for a 45 foot coach, which is the constraint that keeps most full refinish work out of general body shops.

How do estimates, labor rates and deposits work?

Posted labor is $210 per hour for body and paint, $260 per hour for mechanical and electrical, $285 per hour for diagnostics, scan and programming, and $95 per hour for detail. Materials are calculated automatically on every estimate: paint supplies at $55 per paint hour, body supplies at $5 per body hour, and a $45 flat hazmat line whenever chemicals, refrigerant or LP gas is handled. Sales tax of 7.75 percent applies to parts and materials. Labor is not taxed. Every figure on this site traces back to the posted rate sheet.

There are three ways a job gets priced up front.

Collision estimate: No charge. Insurance walk ins are always welcome, and the written estimate is built in the same format adjusters read, with labor operations, parts lines and paint hours broken out separately.
RV systems estimate: $150, applied as a credit against an authorized repair. This covers slide, awning, water, electrical and generator evaluation, where the fault has to be reproduced before anyone can quote it.
In depth diagnostic: 1 hour at $285, applied as a credit against an authorized repair. Used for intermittent electrical faults, control board behavior and anything requiring a scan tool.

Parts carry 100 percent markup under $100 and 35 percent over $100. Special order parts require a full non refundable deposit at order, because a custom front cap for a discontinued coach cannot be returned to the mold shop. Jobs over $2,000 take a 50 percent deposit at authorization, with an additional 25 percent when parts arrive on jobs over $10,000. Final balance is due at pickup. Card payments over $1,000 carry a 3.5 percent surcharge, which is a pass through of merchant fees on high ticket work.

Insurance billed jobs may be written at carrier negotiated labor rates that differ from the posted retail rates. That is normal and it is disclosed on the estimate.

What happens between drop off and pickup?

Every job runs the same seven stages, whether it is a $250 roof vent or a $150,000 rebuild. The stages exist so that nothing gets discovered halfway through paint.

Intake and photo documentation. The vehicle is walked, photographed and measured. Pre existing damage is recorded so it does not get argued about later.
Teardown. Panels, trim and interior finish come off in the damaged area. On composite construction this is where hidden damage shows up: wet luan, corroded staples, separated adhesive.
Estimate or supplement. The written estimate is built or revised against what teardown found. Nothing proceeds without authorization.
Structural and substrate work. Frame, framing, subfloor and panel work happens before anything cosmetic.
Body, filler and prime. Surfaces are blocked flat, sealed and primed. On gelcoat this stage is longer than most owners expect.
Paint and blend. Color is sprayed out on a test card, checked under shop and daylight, then applied with the blend mapped across adjacent panels.
Reassembly, systems check and quality verification. Slides cycled, seals seated, water pressure tested, generator load tested where applicable.

Questions we get asked

Do you work on vehicles that are not RVs?

Yes. Enclosed cargo trailers, utility trailers, Sprinter and ProMaster vans, box trucks, flatbeds, service bodies, buses and municipal fleet units all come through the same shop. The common thread is size and construction, not recreational use.

How long does a typical repair take?

Labor hours vary from 1 hour for a roof vent to 800 hours for a full collision rebuild. Calendar time depends more on parts availability than on labor. Special order caps, windshields and slide components can take weeks to arrive, which is why the estimate stage matters.

Can I bring in a vehicle that is not driveable?

Yes. Vehicles arrive on transport regularly, particularly on total loss evaluations and collision work. Coordinate the delivery window in advance so the yard has space and someone at the facility can sign for it.

Do you handle insurance claims directly?

Work is done direct with every major carrier including Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, AAA SoCal, Mercury, Allstate, Wawanesa, Liberty Mutual and others.
