The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard commonly referenced by public sector requirements and by accessibility law in the United States, and it is the target this site is built and maintained against. It is stated as a target rather than as a completed conformance claim, deliberately. A site of several hundred pages, maintained over time, will contain individual issues at any given moment. Claiming full conformance would be an assertion nobody can continuously verify. Naming the target and listing the known gaps is the more useful and more honest position. Accessibility is treated as part of building the site rather than as an audit performed afterward. Contrast ratios, heading structure and keyboard operability are checked automatically before anything is published, and a failure stops the build rather than producing a report somebody reads later. ## What has been implemented? - **Semantic structure.** One heading level one per page with headings nested in order and no skipped levels, so a screen reader user can move through a page by structure. Lists, tables and definition lists use the correct markup rather than styled paragraphs. - **Colour contrast.** Text and interface colours are checked against Level AA contrast ratios automatically, and a combination that fails prevents publication. The palette is deliberately narrow, which makes that check reliable. - **Keyboard operation.** Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard in a logical order, with a visible focus indicator that is not removed by styling. - **Touch targets.** Interactive controls meet a minimum of forty four by forty four pixels, which helps motor impairment and small screens equally. - **Text and layout.** Body text is set at a minimum of seventeen pixels with a constrained line length, and layouts reflow without horizontal scrolling from small phones up to large desktops. - **Images.** Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text and decorative images are marked so assistive technology skips them. - **Tables.** Data tables, including the ballpark price table, use header cells correctly so a screen reader can associate a value with its column. - **Link text.** Links describe their destination rather than relying on surrounding context or generic phrases. ## What is known to fall short? Listing these is more useful than omitting them. - **Long data tables.** The complete ballpark price table is large, and navigating it with a screen reader is workable but tedious. The same figures appear in narrative form on the surrounding pages, which is currently the better route for anyone finding the table difficult. - **Alternative text depth on documentation images.** Photographs of damage and repair work are genuinely hard to describe fully in a short alternative text string. Descriptions state what the image shows, but they cannot convey everything a sighted viewer takes from a detailed damage photograph. - **Third party content.** Any content served from an independent site, including embedded map and review platform material, is outside our control and may not meet the same standard. - **Older documents.** Any file offered for download may not meet the same standard as the pages themselves. These are working items rather than permanent limitations, and reports from users are the main way the list gets shorter. ## How do you report a barrier?
